





The Mycoverse Foundation
Die Stiftung Mycoverse mit Sitz in Liechtenstein wurde 2022 mit dem Ziel gegründet, das Wissen über Pilze und ihre Eigenschaften in der Öffentlichkeit zu fördern und zu verbreiten. Während Mykologie und Forstwirtschaft traditionell mit der Erforschung von Pilzen in Verbindung gebracht werden, wird sich die Stiftung Mycoverse auf die Erforschung, Entwicklung und Verbreitung von Spitzenforschung und angewandten Technologien auf der Grundlage von Pilzen konzentrieren. Von so unterschiedlichen Bereichen wie der Landwirtschaft und der nachhaltigen Nahrungsmittelproduktion (mit jüngsten Entwicklungen wie Fleischalternativen) bis hin zu medizinischen Behandlungen, der Mykosanierung (Bodenreinigung und Wasserfiltration), der Gastronomie, Baumaterialien (Schalldämmung), Lederersatz oder Biopestiziden sind die Anwendungsmöglichkeiten von Pilzen grenzenlos.
Als solche betreibt die Stiftung Mycoverse wissenschaftliche, landwirtschaftliche und medizinische Forschung in allen möglichen Richtungen unter Verwendung von Pilzen als Ausgangsmaterial oder Gegenstand. Es versammelt ein Team von internationalen Mykologen, Agraringenieuren und Medizinern, um unbestrittene Forschungsergebnisse über die Vorteile von Pilzen anzubieten.
Die Rolle von Pilzen bei der Wiederherstellung natürlicher Ökosysteme wird von der Öffentlichkeit oft übersehen, obwohl sie zu den wenigen natürlichen Heilmitteln gehören, die in großem Maßstab wirksam zur Wiederherstellung zerstörter Ökosysteme oder verschmutzter Böden eingesetzt werden können. Ein großer Teil unserer Zukunft hängt davon ab, wie wir unsere natürliche Umwelt in ihren ursprünglichen Zustand zurückversetzen und gleichzeitig sicherstellen, dass die Nahrungsmittelproduktion nachhaltig und reich an allen Nährstoffen bleibt, die wir brauchen, um als Menschen gesund und erfolgreich zu sein.


As such, the Mycoverse Foundation pursues scientific, agricultural and medical research in all possible directions using mushrooms as primary material or subject matter. It gathers a team of international mycologists, agricultural engineers and medical doctors to offer undisputed research on the benefits of mushrooms.
The role of mushrooms and fungi in the restoration of natural ecosystems is often overseen by the general public despite being one of the few natural remedies that can be effectively used on a large scale to restore destroyed ecosystems or polluted soils. Much of our future depends on how we will restore our natural environment to its initial condition while ensuring that food production remains sustainable and rich in all the nutrients we need to remain healthy and thriving human beings.

Standards & Public Information
The Foundation intends to create quality standards for the production and sale of medicinal mushrooms in Europe. This shall apply both for food products and health supplements. The certification standards shall provide better and more reliable information on mushrooms-based products, their country of origins and the concentration of key compounds (betaglucans, ORAC level§s, trace minerals, amino-acids, etc...). The foundation will work on getting medicinal mushrooms approved as novel food under current European standards, including the use of mushrooms as hybrid meat replacement. Quality standards will be determined for each of the main medicinal mushrooms and include new species (amanita muscaria, cubensis psilocybe,....). The determination of adequate procedures and testing standards will be developed in collaboration with some leading European universities.

Mushroom Cultivation Center
The foundation plans to develop a state-of-the-art agricultural research center in Innsbruck to concentrate knowledge, research and training under one location. The center will be focused on the training of farmers but will offer teaching courses (online and on-site) for independent mushrooms cultivators (IMC) as well. Using the latest e-learning methods and online interactive possibilities, it shall allow farmers and IMC users to be trained faster, better and cheaper than any other type of cultivation training (months vs years). The project can have a major and lasting impact on agriculture techniques around the world by using mushrooms by-products (mycorrhiza) to restore soil ecosystems. The project offers a solid alternative to chemical-free production of food supply by significantly increasing the yields of crops without using any fertilizers or pesticide agents, therefore dramatically reducing production costs by local farmers.

European Institute of Mycology

e-Library on fungi & Publication Center
Access to mushrooms cultivation techniques and mushrooms benefits shall be facilitated and better structured in the interest of the public (both professionals and fungi enthusiasts). The foundation intends to develop an online library in the course of 2024. It shall offer a systematic collection of existing research (medical and scientific) on mushrooms along with validated protocols on how to use medicinal mushrooms. The fondation plan to publish in 2024 a manual of reference for the medical professions and to offer a specialization in mycotherapy for therapists and medical doctors.

Smart Center Tyrol
Sustainable Mushroom Agriculture Research & Training Center The center will strive to become the leading European institute in mycotherapy and will offer training programs for medical doctors and aspiring mycotherapists with a special focus on the therapeutical use of medicinal mushrooms. It will first create modules of training to be studied online. The Foundation will partner with European universities to obtain a validation of the program as a recognized medical speciality. This service will include an advisory helpline supervised by doctors to give recommendations on how to use mushrooms for a given pathology.

Medical Research on Mushrooms
The foundation intends to launch clinical studies in partnerships with clinics in Switzerland and Europe to conduct medical research with medicinal mushrooms for alternative treatment of neurodegenerative diseases such as epilepsy or dementia. This will help to better evaluate the healing properties of medicinal mushrooms on a strong scientific basis, how to use them in therapeutical treatments and according to patients diagnostics. It shall be viewed as complementary (and not alternative) support to existing oncological treatments. The research will include ressearch in the treatment of depression using PCM (psilocybin containing mushrooms). The project can have a major and lasting impact on agriculture techniques around the world by using mushrooms by-products (mycorrhiza) to restore soil ecosystems. The project offers a solid alternative to chemical-free production of food supply by significantly increasing the yields of crops without using any fertilizers or pesticide agents, therefore dramatically reducing production costs by local farmers.
